We are Dennis (32) and Anna Chase (31). We met on the internet back in 1998, and have been married since February 8, 2005. Anna Chase is originally from San Antonio, Texas, USA, and Dennis from Heerlen, The Netherlands.

In december 2007 Anna was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and currently she is not working. Because of the fibromyalgia it got harder and harder for her to find suitable, English-speaking non-computer work, with enough diversity so she would not get too much pain in her hands and arms (it is virtually impossible for her to find work here with her European Medieval History degree).
Dennis has been working for Vodafone in Maastricht since getting his Law degree, but his position is one of the positions moving to Amsterdam per September 1, 2008. Since neither of us feel like moving to Amsterdam, we seriously had to consider all of our options.

Since for years now we have been saying that one day we want to move to the US, considering the circumstances this became a realistic option, all of a sudden. After weighing all the pros and cons of staying and going, and after gathering a lot information both in the Netherlands and in the US, on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, we made a decision:

We were moving to America!!

On October 28, 2008, it happened: we arrived in Colorado!

This website was started to report on our experiences in the United States, to let people back home know how we are doing.
In the weblogs of Dennis (in Dutch) and Anna Chase (in English) you can keep track of our progress. We have also added a photo archive to our site, so we can let everyone experience our adventures in both words and images.
